Frequently Asked Questions

Henna Plant

Mehendhi - What Is It?

Henna is a green powder derived from the leaves of the Lawsonia Inermis plant. Henna powder is applied to the skin to produce a stain.

What is a henna tattoo?

A henna tattoo is a design or pattern left on the skin after the skin has been stained by henna.

How long does a henna tattoo last?

Henna tattoos last approximately 1-4 weeks depending on several factors. Our artist will be able to advise you on the steps you can take to make your henna tattoo last as long as possible.

Is henna safe?

Henna is a natural product. We use only 100% natural ingredients in our henna paste. We have used our product safely on hundreds of clients. We make our ingredients openly available to all of our clients and if you have any concerns about your specific skin we recommend a test application.

How is a tattoo applied?

  1. The paste is applied onto the skin using a plastic cone.
  2. The paste will dry and form a crust after 15 mins to an hour.
  3. Once the crust is dry, it will crumble off to leave an orange stain.
  4. The full colour takes approximately three days to develop.

Are there any preparations I need to make before getting a tattoo?

The area should be clean, dry and void of any skin moisturisers/creams. For more information please contact our artist who will be able to advise you.
